Description
Potato and Cheese Pierogy (Varenyky) are classic Ukrainian dumplings with a soft, comforting filling and delicate dough. The dough is made from premium wheat flour, drinking water and refined sunflower oil, so it stays tender and elastic after cooking.
Inside, there is a smooth, home-style filling of boiled potatoes and sour-milk cheese, lightly seasoned with salt. This combination gives a mild, creamy taste that works perfectly as a main course for the whole family.
Serve these pierogy hot, freshly boiled – simply cook the frozen varenyky in salted water for 5–7 minutes, then drain and dress with butter, sour cream or fried onions. They pair well with fresh salads, pickles or can be enjoyed on their own as a warm, hearty meal.
Cooking method: frozen varenyky are put into boiling salted water. They are brought to a boil while stirring and cooked for 5–7 minutes. Cooked varenyky are taken out from the water and dressed to taste (with butter or sour cream).
