Description
Beef Khinkali are traditional Georgian-style dumplings with a rich, aromatic filling and a juicy meat centre. Thin dough made from premium wheat flour holds a generous portion of minced boneless beef and beef fat mixed with onion, fresh cilantro and parsley.
The filling is seasoned with a carefully balanced blend of spices – allspice, turmeric, coriander, cumin, nutmeg, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger and paprika. This mix gives the khinkali a deep, warm flavour and a characteristic aroma, while potato starch helps keep the meat juices inside during cooking.
Khinkali are delivered frozen and cook in boiling salted water in 10–20 minutes, depending on size. Serve them hot, dressed with butter, sour cream or simply freshly ground black pepper to highlight the taste of the meat and spices.
Cooking method: frozen khinkali are put into boiling salted water. They are brought to a boil while stirring and cooked for 10-20 minutes. Cooked khinkali are taken out from the water and dressed to taste (with butter or sour cream).
